How healthy/unhealthy is Simply Smart and other reduced fat milk? I like to drink 1 percent but am cutting calories and trying the fat free Simply Smart. How do they make it and is it any better than 1 percent regular milk?
Reduced fat milks, particularly 1% or fat-free milk are good nutritional choices because of their reduced saturated fat content. Hood, the company that produces Simply Smart, claims that they use a “natural” ultra filtration process in processing the milk so that their fat-free milk has the taste and texture of low-fat milk. The nutritional values of the Simply Smart milks are very similar to their regular milk counterparts with the calorie content slightly higher for both the fat-free and low-fat Simply Smart milks. Since the Simply Smart and regular milks appear to be nutritionally similar. Let taste guide your choice.
